Simon Hodges is a seasoned musician with a background in radio, bringing a storyteller’s sensibility to his songwriting. He is the frontman of the newly formed band, Simon Hodges and The Department, featuring Lucas Rathmanner on guitar, Adam Riddell on bass, and Steve Simpson on drums. Together, they craft energetic and engaging rock music with a distinctive edge.

Drawing inspiration from The Vaccines, Hunters & Collectors, Weezer, and Blur, Simon’s music blends infectious melodies, thoughtful lyrics, and a dynamic sense of rhythm. A defining feature of his sound is the inclusion of a horn section—tenor saxophone, trumpet, and trombone—which appears on many of the band’s songs, adding a rich, layered dimension to his compositions.
